Tile Calculation Policy – Track-Asia Map

1. What is a Tile?

A Tile is a small map block (256×256 px) downloaded to compose the complete map you see on the screen.
When a user opens or moves around the map, the application will load multiple tiles depending on screen size, zoom level, and resolution.

2. General Rules of Track-Asia

  • Track-Asia charges directly based on the number of actual Tiles loaded.
  • For estimation: 1 Map Load = 10 Tiles (standardized across all customers).
  • Minimum 14-day cache: tiles loaded within 14 days will not be charged again.

3. Reference Conversion Tiles ↔ Map Loads

Device / Case Estimated Actual Tiles Track-Asia Conversion
Mobile (small screen) ~8 tiles / load Counted as 10 tiles / load
Desktop (1280×720) ~15 tiles / load Counted as 10 tiles / load
Large screen / Deep zoom ~20–25 tiles / load Counted as 10 tiles / load

4. Example

- 10,000 users open the map 10 times per month = 1,000,000 Map Loads.
- According to Track-Asia’s rule (1 Map Load = 10 Tiles) → 1,000,000 Tiles per month ≈ 100,000 Map Loads.
